Calling all Pension Administrators!


Do you have your DPA (diploma in pension administration) or equivalent qualification and are looking to join an employer and member orientated pension administration team? 


We have an exciting opportunity for Pension Administrators with experience in defined benefit pensions or LGPS to join us as we enhance and strengthen our Pension Administration team.

The role

Our Pensions Administrators carry out and verify all types of benefit calculations and procedures for scheme members and their dependants and scheme employer requests whilst maintaining confidentiality and security of pension records.


They also provide information and guidance; answering general pensions related enquiries and provide employer based presentations to members on the benefits of the LGPS.


This role also involves training and mentoring Trainee Pension Administrators and the checking of benefit calculations and associated communications done by trainees and peers.


Successful candidates will have a background screening prior to being made an offer of employment.




Lothian Pension Fund administers the Local Government Pension Scheme in Edinburgh and the Lothians. The Fund is a multi-employer scheme with £8billion assets and 98% funded. We manage 84,000 members and 90 employers and are the second largest LGPS fund in Scotland.


We have a marketing-leading in-house investment team who manages over 85% of assets in-house via internal equity and bond portfolios and infrastructure investment. We established a regulated investment company providing resourcing, operational support, governance and deal execution for our private markets and gained FCA authorisation in 2015. This enables us to collaborate with other LGPS funds offering a clearing house service.
