LPF administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in Edinburgh and the Lothians and is one of the largest pension funds in the UK.
We’re seeking applications for two external Pensions Committee seats: one drawn from LPF’s employer bodies and one from LPF’s membership. Pensions Committee membership comprises five elected members of the City of Edinburgh Council and two external members for which nominations are currently being sought.
To be eligible to apply for the role of external Committee Member Employer seat, you need to work within an employer body that participates in the Fund and be nominated by your employer.

Personal Specification
The Pensions Committee needs people who bring experience, knowledge and expertise relevant to overseeing a pension fund like LPF. That includes specific professional or other skills, but also more general ‘non-executive’ capabilities. The full role specification can be found here.
Credible experience and qualifications to perform the following functions are highly desirable for the appointed individuals:

Rate: £2,250 per year (non-pensionable)
Tenure: 3 years

Hours: 8 days per year minimum

Within the application you’re asked to complete the declaration which provides confirmation that you meet all the necessary criteria and have read and are able to adhere to the LPF Code of Conduct. This will be explored further at your interview.
The assessment will happen in two stages, firstly, LPF will assess suitability of candidates and their respective submissions. The applicants who most closely meet these requirements will be invited to attend for interview.
The final stage of assessment will include an interview with the review panel, where you’ll be asked questions to allow you to demonstrate that you have the skills, knowledge and experience required.
